Presentation:

As a girl, the late daughter of an elderly couple, when I was feeling alone I distracted myself creating stories with the figures projected on the clouds in sky, which so quickly faded; 'playing' a song of my own that resulted from the positional variations of the birds on electric wires in streets and roads; delighting in fun with countless animals; jumping among the trees that populated the yard of my childhood; and reflecting on the mysteries that emerged from my dealings with people, animals, and things.

My earliest recollection of these times seems to have placed me in the course I describe here and has led me to encounter art, multidimensional organizations and multiplicities.

I remember with great clarity a fact, turned into a vector, that led me through life. I was about three and a half years old. I know this because the garden in front of my house still existed before it was replaced at that time. I woke up and went out into the garden where I found a dark red, velvety rose, completely blooming. Droplets of dew in it reverberated the rainbow. I went into ecstasy. The sublime beauty permeated my being. I wanted to share it with all my loved ones. To my excited call everyone came to see the rose and celebrate with me agreeing with its beauty. But in that moment, in a fraction of second when children become able to perceive the infinite, I realized that they did not see what I saw. I went to my swing under a beautiful vine tree and began to thought about that feeling, that sensation. I realized then that no one had seen what I had saw and, therefore, with that kind of childish logic only inherent to children, I concluded that people did not see the same things as I did, that what they saw was somehow different from what I had perceived. Only later, in my youth, on discovering the philosopher Merleau-Ponty could I understand the solitary totality of that sublime moment.

Today, although aware of the impossibility of the mission to communicate such deeper feelings and sensations, I still try to share other 'roses' through my work as an artist. In this journey I learned to love paradoxes and to delight myself with them, what makes of this journey an adventure. As I went through it, I improved on a methodology I call as a 'relational method of successive approximations' (sorry it is in Portuguese) to get closer to my goals. It is the method that guides me in the creative process for the creation of artistic works and, especially, those related to the interactive arts. It begins, usually, with an immersion in nature and develops as a seed fed by dreams and events in synchronicity. In this process I try to follow the great master Leonardo who made of every risk, of every outline, a work of art, although my sketches are far from the quality of his.
